Computers in healthcare

I decided to do the medical field. In the medical I think it is important for this industry to stay updated with computer skills. Paper charts, medical records, and medical and coding is all being done over the computer. I think being experience in computer skills within the medical field is important to make sure no one messes up patients information and knowing how to not violate HIPAA protocol. I did learn that health information is divided into different subcategories: consumer, public, clinical, and translational. 

The consumer health informatics is for the patient for them to be able to schedule appointments, find a provider, and etc.

Public health informatics to monitor worldwide issues.

Clinical health informatics helps deliver healthcare services. 

Translational health informatics helps design and analyze data. 

In the next 10 year's healthcare can be a major change. There maybe robotic ways that people can have doctor visits without actually being at the doctor.
